so when im driving slow and taking a turn it makes a knocking noise a few times? any ideas

At the risk of ating the obvious, check your wheel nuts are tight. If it's not that, there's a chance it could be a CV joint on the way out. Usually worst at full lock and car parking speeds.

Easy way to test CV joints, try full lock in reverse! usually only the surfaces that bear the force when going forward cause the knocking, As has been said does it do it when stationary? if it does i would suspect strut top bearings.

As above, 2 most common causes of this are suspension top mount bearings or anti roll bar drop links.

Does the noise happen when turning the wheel with the car stationary?

Or does it only happen when driving?

Happens when stationary and driving slow, not at speed well what I can hear
had spring checked and drop links but noise still there

If it happens when stationary,, we can rule out CV joints. Strut top bearings are very common. Also, we've recently had a thread where a joint in the steering column itself (inside the car) was loose. Maybe worth a check?

My money is definitely on the top mounts. Get someone to turn the steering wheel lock to lock and take a look at the strut while they do it. It helps to feel the spring at the same time for any knocks and/or vibration. You may hear a pinging, lumpy bearing noise too. These bearings are renowned for wearing away leaving you with basically two rubber cups rubbing together, hence the pinging noise.

Just had this prob myself - it was the top strut bearing. Not too dear to fix, £30 for part + about £40 labour.

Mind linking to said thread? I can't seem to find it by searching.
