Hi guys, new to the forum so I just want to say a quick hello to you all :).

Anyway, I purchased my GP (2006 1.4 8v) back in April and it's orange. Since I have decided to keep it for another year rather than get something new I thought I would start doing some modifications to it. I'm looking for things that will make the car look nice (go well with the colour orange) but aren't too pricey. Since a lot of you on here have gone through this already I thought it would be a good idea to get your opinions and also see how much it cost you (as I have no clue how much things are going to cost me at all). Want to get cheap stuff done as quickly as and then save up for the more expensive stuff.

I've ordered myself a chrome de-badged grill from FK (not sure if it's going to look odd as the others are black. If so what do you guys recommend?) and I'm getting a backbox fitted with a decent tailpipe so the back looks more appealing.

Here's a couple of pictures of what it looks like right now:

Not a fan of chrome grills myself, especially as the other is black. I'd go for a black debadged grille personally but you can get lower chrome grilles if you want to do so.

With regards to the exhaust if you want it purely for the looks what about just changing the tips? It'll be cheaper and have less impact on insurance.

I'd look at getting some sporting alloys, I think the tjet multispokes would look great. You're looking around 300 for a nice set, 200 for some that need refurb, obviously factor in tyres.

I think the best thing you can do visually is lower it. You're looking at 100-150 for springs and 200+ for coilovers. Again ask your insurance first as it will probably hike the price a fair bit.

See if you can get hold of some sporting side skirts, probably 50 quid from a scrappy and 100 to have them painted to match your car.

Sporting/abarth headlights with black rather than chrome inserts are 50-100 and make a big difference imo.

Tinted side indicators are subtle but look good, around £10.

Maybe a light tint on the rear 3 windows will look good. 100-200 to have them done, again factor in insurance costs.

The chrome one was the only one I could find that fit, there didn't seem to be any black ones available. I've sprayed it black and it looks decent but if you know of any black ones I'd love one of them instead. As for the back box, I kind of wanted an extra tone so that's why I got it instead of the tailpipes.

Thanks for all the suggestions mate, I'll have a look at my options and get in touch with insurance to see how much I'm going to need.

One last thing, everyone seems to vinyl the part between top and bottom grill where the number plate goes. Does anyone have any idea how much something like that costs as I would prefer not to try it myself.

As far as I'm aware they should be easy enough to get hold of, try amazon/ebay.

Why don't you fancy trying it? The vinyl will cost you less than a tenner, then you just need a knife and a spray bottle with soapy water. Loads of vids on YouTube that'll help. Not sure how much a professional will charge, I'd guess in the region if 40?

I had no luck getting one from either, it looks alright sprayed black for now though.

I'll give it a try I guess, I just don't want it looking terrible hahaha. Cheers.
