Back with another potential issue with my 2007 GP.

Whenever I pull up at traffic lights or junctions, there is a smell of petrol which comes through the cabin. I see that this is a common problem with the GP and it's breather hose. People have always noticed my car has had this problem but it never bothered me because it wasn't too bad. However, recently I was driving along on the A3 and I heard something from the undercarriage. I thought it was a stone so I thought nothing of it and moved on, I looked back to check and there was something black, either a stone or a bolt. Ever since then the petrol smell has become more pronounced to the point where it's bothering me and I'm getting paranoid.

I've checked for leaks and there doesn't seem to be any.

Do you guys think it's just a breather hose issue or something bigger because I kinda can't afford something bigger at the moment as I just paid £600 on a new oil filter, battery and new gear selector cables since they had all decided to break.

local motorfactors usually sell hose on a roll by the .5 metre if its split it is much cheaper than the fancy fiat shaped one
