Hi, I put my scanner into my 59 plate gp 1.6 multijet and on the live data it was showing 0.0% for my egr. I revs it a few times but still not change, can anyone tell me if this is ok or do I have a problem with it. No fault codes come up about it.

Hi Mark
What are the symptoms of the problem you are having I assume you are having an issue to be reading the live data ??
One thing to remember with the Egr as an emission related system it will not be active whilst the vehicle is cold and will run open loop until a certain temperature where t will be engaged ...
The other thing to consider is a Egr system works to reduce NOX with are oxides of nitrogen these are generated at high combustion temperate the Egr then recirculates the gases to bring combustion temperatures down so unless NOX is being produced the Egr has no reason to recirculate
Hope this helps

I'm having problems with my turbo not kicking in and dpf clogged and just happen to see the egr reading 0.0%. Engine was hot when I took the reading

Right ok ,
Your best off clearing the Dpf first it will be effecting the exhaust pressures which in turn could be causing the engine management to run Limp mode which in turn will restrict power and might make it feel it has a lack of boost ...
The best way to try and clear is give it a good harsh run keep Revs high and make sure to give it a good clear out on a stretch of dual carriageway /motorway other than that it looks like a forced regeneration may be needed which you need diagnostic software for.
If your worried about the Egr it wouldn't do it any harm to remove the pipes and to clean them out if there's a build up of dirt and that ...

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, I have tried doing a long drive with high revs but it doesn't help, So looks like my next step as you say is a forced regen and see if that helps.
