Hi,

I own a 57 grande punto and am having trouble with my heater.

It appears to only blow cold air when the temperature outside is below 8/9 degrees and only warm air for anything above this.

Ontop of this the blower seems to make a humming noise when turned on full.

There isn't any problem with the coolant level and the coolant pipes feel warm to touch.

I have taken the heater resistor out and there seems to be no sign of damage.

I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction of my problem before the cold weather kicks in!!

Thanks

Hey, I've been trying to work out the same thing, had this with my 04 sporting and my 56 GP. I think it's down to the car not reaching the normal operating temperature. As the heating works using the heat produced by the engine. There's nothing wrong with the car itself, as when stationary the car heats up and the heating works, but when you pull off and drive away, the engine temperature reduces, leaving you with basically no heating again. I'm guessing the only way to stop it happening is to essentially cover up part of the radiator to reduce the heat loss? I've been trying to find a answer for a while, but no one I've spoken to seems to knows truly why this happens or how to resolve it.

Sounds very similar however my car does not drop in temperature once warm so I don't think it's the car thermostat, however it does sound like you may have an issue with yours?
