My alternator is packing in. I had it replaced with a second hand one last year and this one is now on it's last legs. I have a few questions:

1. Has anyone changed one by themselves and is there a guide(I went to do it last time and when seen where it was just took it to the garage)

2. I got charged £85 for the work last time as I had the alternator already but has anyone actually had a decent supply and fit price? I've seen a few complaints with being ripped off on here.

3. How can I find out what amp Alternator is fitted to my car or is it a standard fit for the 1.9 and if so can I trust getting any?

4. Why isn't there a haynes manual for this f**king car? Really annoys me.
