willkommen (and thats the limit of my high school german after 15 years unless i need to order a beer or argue over sunbeds

The engine has No timing marks on it at all on the grande punto engine...

what year is your car? some have VVT which need a bit more work (you can tell if yours has VVT from the engine top cover (cam)

anyways regardless you will need a locking kit to suit the engine (the engine type is on the VIN tag which is on the boot floor under the carpet. to the left hand side.

Re: cam belt replace

you want to follow pages 1-3 of my guide above its a good idea to replace the water pump whilst your at it since it is cam belt driven...

the engine it timed with the top sprocket loose so timing marks if you made any are useless

Re: cam belt replace

you need the locking kit, its the only 100% sure way to put the engine in time

Re: cam belt replace

The older FIRE engines were safe (none interference)

These newer FIRE "evo2" engines have been known to bend valves there is nothing in the fiat literature to say they are safe
