I recently ordered some new forge braces for my gp t-jet and while I was waiting to see something like this

finally arrived something like this

Is this normal?Could they be refurbished?Should I return them or this is the new way that forge make these braces?(I remember from some other members that have installed them that there wasn’t any crop in the big bar).
Thank you in advance

I thought that they have only one part code for all the engines

It seems normal then-no reason for return...Thank you for your answers

Sorry for the very late reply.I fitted them but I had to remove the small one because it was scrapping on the exhaust.

A straigthening brace with button holes (pict @ #8 ) makes me laugh !
IMO, you'd better spend money on renewing rubbers or shocks than trying to gain rigidity (if it's your aim)...

Trying to gain rigidity inst the aim, I have lowered the vehicle and I have caught the original brace on various objects on the road and I think it may be snapped as I have a rather annoying rattling coming from that area from when it last caught something.

I cant seem to find an aftermarket ones other then people breaking puntos on eBay and Id rather have something a bit stronger but I don't want to put my hands in my pockets just to send them back because they do not fit.

Unless it's made of high strength material not sure the forge brace would be stronger than the OEM as it looks like a simple steel bar. Doesn't look to save that much space compared to OEM either ...

would you have the OEM part number fr item #8 in that drawing?
The main question is do the Forge braces fit any grande punto?

What's your VIN , or at least production date / model ?

hi, do these fit any grande punto??

I believe all grande punto and punto Evo subframes are similar, so bolting patterns should line up.
However the gearbox (mount) might hit the long brace on some vehicles. The small brace might not fit depending on how low the exhaust hangs. (on my 1.3 jtd evo the small one would nowhere near fit). Nobody will know how high Fiat hung your particular exhaust and also your exhaust might have been replaced at some point in time. Only way to know is to get under your car and look at where it will bolt up. You should be able to see if the braces will fit on your car. (they are just straight bars)

thanks for all the help! As yous say i think i need to get under the car and have a look my self which i plan to do soon. im not too bothered on fitting the small one unless it obviously fits then i will use it, i just need a replacement mainly and i dont want to put a cheap, thin piece of mild steel back there.
