I've got a 06 Grande Punto Sporting Mjet Diesel.

Anyone had their power steering pump go? Mine is currently on its last legs and makes a horrible sound / vibration through the steering wheel. Taken to one garage so far and they've quoted £800 to fix it. Going to try some more garages over the weekend.

New alternator and battery around 18 months ago.

Added to the long list of problems this car as had.

Just shelled out a load of money at the MOT for 3 new tyres and a suspension spring.

Far as I'm aware the power steering on a gp is electronic. You could replace the shaft yourself. Can also get 10% off on part if donated to the foums

You can get a reconditioned one for half the price (but have send yours back to them as on exchange basis on eBay)
