Got rid of my active sport because i needed to get a car with aircon, i wantd to stay with fiat so got another Grande Punto but it was the Elaganze.

I didnt really notice the differences when i bought it but now i keep looking at it and after having the active sport I just cant get used to the look of my new one.

So my plan is to add a front and rear bumper spoilers, rear roof spoiler and some side skirts to make it look like my old car.

Ive seen these kits on EBay from Poland, made from GRP, and can get them all for the price of 1 through Fiat.

Anyone ever bought these polish GRP ones and are they any good?

Cheers for your help

Heya,

I got a 'polish' spoiler for my grande a few years ago. Cost about £40 for the spoiler and £60 to get it painted. I fitted it myself by just using tigerseal to glue it on.

I cant remember exactly when I fitted it but its been on their for about 2 years with no problems what so ever, cant even tell the difference compared to OEM fiat spoiler, they are exactly the same

I cant speak about the side skirts though as I didnt get any for my car

All I would recommend is getting it painted by a body shop as they will mix up paint to specifically match the colour of your car

spot on, ccheers for your reply mate.

I imagine that the side skirts and bumpers would be the same quality as the rear spoiler (or hoping more like lol )

I am ganna get it sprayed at the a proper spray shop like, at least then i know it will be done right, I hope its not £60 per item like otherwise thats extortion haha

I'm hoping they will be able to fit it for me aswell.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy second hand genuine parts in the right colour? There are plenty of grandes being broken for parts these days.

Second hand parts are as the name suggests second hand. They wont be perfect by any means

You might be waiting a while for the right paint code to come up and even then as its second hand it might need sorting out, scratches buffed, maybe a t-cut etc. You may even need to get it resprayed anyway. If you are getting it off a second hand punto consider the reason why they are selling you parts from a broken car, could it be the orginal car was in an accident? I'm not saying it would be dangerous to fit spoilers and side skirts from cars that have been written off but you cant expect them to be perfect

Also lets say you have a red Punto. If you got a second hand spoiler off another red punto the reds might not be the same as one of the cars may be more faded than the other. Things like the spoilers and side skirts are plastic not metal so are more prone to fading

With this in mind i'd much rather go non OEM than second hand. You might be looking at getting the parts resprayed anyway to blend correctly with the car if you go second hand. Also i'd much rather use tiger seal than go and replace the whole tailgate (then you are also stuck with an unwanted tailgate). Using tiger seal is easy, its just glue at the end of the day. I marked out on the tailgate where the spolier was going to fit, added tigerseal to the area, added a bit more to the other side of the spoiler, stuck it down and held it in place with tape overnight while it set.

When it comes to things like spoilers and side skirts i cant see any advantage going second hand over non OEM

In short I would go non OEM, get it proffesionally painted ( I know we are all on a budget but £60 to get it sprayed and get it done right isn't the end of the world) and fit it yourself or if you are not confident with tiger seal (its easy!) then the body shop might fit it for you too if you chuck some quid their way

I managed to get original rear roof spoiler and side skirts for £95

Ive been quoted £150 to spray and fit spoiler, I need to ask him how much extra to spray and fit skirts.

Only thing is, my car is a 5 door and the skirts have come from a 3 door active sport, i'm hoping they fit, ive been told they will.

Mate that polish spoiler you got, did it come with a section already cut out in order for the bumper light to be seen or did it need to be cut out, or is the spoiler actually made in order to see the light with no whole/cutting required?

Hey mate, the bit for the rear light is already cut out. Its ready to be painted and just stuck on (the one I got was pre-primed too)

Its an exact replica of the normal fiat one

How much did you pay mate? Have you got a link to the one you bought?

Any pictures of it on your car bud?

Believe it or not, but I actually dont have a picture of it attached to the car, all my photos of the car are from the front :/

I'm at work so cant really get a pic at the moment

cheers mate, i seen them and wasnt sure about it as it looked small and dumpy on the picture with the white car but looks like the one i was after on the orange car so wasnt sure what i would get, if that makes sense :D
