Hi people,

Ive had my Grande Punto for a little over a year now and i love it!
But i have a knocking noise that been developing over time its getting irritating now! :bang:
Ive heard this could be drop links?
Has anyone else had this problem? And does anyone know what it most likely could be?
Im also new to this aswell!
I have a 2009 1.9JTDM Grande Punto done just over 90K now!

Under what conditions does it knock? Big bumps like speed bumps? Small ones like cobbles or cats' eyes? Braking, accelerating or cornering? Is it worse laden or unladen? It certainly COULD be drop links, but there are plenty of other potential causes. Try giving your exhaust tailpipe a good wiggle (WHEN COLD!) up, down. left, right. Do you get the knock then?

I've literally just picked up my car from the garage, it had knocking/rattling when driving over anything bigger than a rizzla paper, was the stabiliser links whatever that means. Got both sides done for 120 English pounds. No more knocking.

I had a knock coming from my front everytime I turned my wheel, it was my strut had seized and there was something wrong with my drop link

Hi, I had the exactly the same problem. Although knocking seemed to be coming from the rear of the car, it finally turned out to be the front drop links even though there didn't seem to be any wear on them. Had both sides replaced for £60 including parts, although job is well within the realms of D.I.Y. Only took mobile mechanic under an hour to do both sides.Problem solved,quiet at last! Hope this turns out to be the solution for you as I know the noise it makes drives you crazy!
