Hi all, my first post here! I looked around the forum a bit but couldn't find an answer so here we go...
I own a left-hand drive Grande Punto "Sport" 1.3 Multijet (the one with the Pininfarina design, can't link it though), I'm originally from Italy but now I live in Ireland, so I drove it up here. Being an Irish resident it's going to be a mess of paperwork since I'd need to register it here, but anyway: what about the headlights?

I need to go through the NCT as soon as I get around VRT, being the car 7 years old and supposed to be a wreck as soon as I register it (don't know why..), and everything's great with it except that the headlights are pointing the opposite direction.

My question is: do I need to change headlights (expensive) or can they adjust them / put some stickers on them (cheap)? I asked a mechanic here in Ireland and they told me I need to replace them without looking the car, but I asked the same thing to a mechanic in Italy before driving up here and he said they can be adjusted. However, I'm pretty sure the Italian mechanic is not aware of how much lights must be turned for the standards here, and maybe the left/right screw is not enough to turn them all the way to the correct direction.

Any suggestions? It's great to find a forum of GP users here! Thanks.

PS: just added pictures of my car as I just found the attachment section! Nothing too different from all the other models, I only asked for the tinted windows as an extra, they aren't dark as I wanted, gotta comply to Italian anti-terrorism laws... Still, they look pretty good and are useful on sunny days.

Thanks, I'll look around the classifieds, I thought they were going to cost more!

Brand new £55 each? Really? Some time ago in an Italian forum I read of someone was quoted 300 € for the pair (genuine spare parts) after they broke theirs  that's why I was a bit hesitant about replacing the headlights. Thanks a lot!

Maybe look for an upgrade while your at it, the abarth versions headlights would look good on a white car i think

I was thinking about it, but then: are different headlights accepted for the national car testing? How is it in the UK? I guess it's similar to Ireland.

Either the Abarth ones, or just the first ones aftermarket I find and I actually like.

Something like the pic in the attachments.

Are they legal for NCT? On the style side, I hope they'll look ok, I don't have so many black details around to match that.

Thanks a lot!

As long as they're 'e' marked, I'm sure they'll be fine.

Ah ok, so I can trust sellers that say "road legal" and e-marked. I also guess the guy at the NCTS centre won't recognize the difference if the headlights aren't too obvious and will only look mostly and the beam.

Thanks, I'll buy a pair of headlights on eBay then, after checking how many pins are my connections.
