Hi, Ive got a 62 plate 1.2 Punto. When the car is started it revs to at least 1500 and takes a while to come back down, which means when pulling off I dont need to touch the accelerator until i'm already in second gear.

Also when the revs are back to normal the accelerator is very sensitive, when pulling off a slight touch of the accelerator can usually sends the revs up to 2000, which makes me look a right fool. Is there anyway to make the accelerator less sensitive and also stop it reving so much when started. Thanks guys.:)

From what you describe it's just doing what it's supposed to do.

-it revs to ~1500 (the so called automatic choke) because the engine is cold the ECU increases the engine speed and runs it richer so the engine won't stall.

-the accelerator might seem sensible, but you get used to it, compensate by lifting the clutch a little more/faster.

I do agree that the pedals are a bit to light; whenever I'm wearing boots i have to be really careful with the accelerator, i just don't feel it through the soul of the boot.

Thanks, thought that might be the answer, just something I'll have to put up with.
