Hello everyone.

So I had a light pull to the right on high speeds so I thought this the right time for an alignment.

Now the problem... after the alignment it was fine no more pull to the right but the steering wheel was not centered. (had to stay ~ 12:30 to go straight)

Took it back to have them fix it but they tell me everything is correct.

So I sit in the car and set the steering wheel to what I see centered. Then he re-align the toe but he says this is not the correct way to align the steering and the car may have a problem with the steering rack.

Now...wtf? The steering was fine except this light pull to right and all of a sudden I have a rack problem? Any ideas guys? Thanks.

owned for YEARs..??,
TEST - in a quiet car park,
turn tight left, then tight right, Full lock..!!
the wheel should travel the same amount of turns - if NOT then the rack is off centre,
IF it's an even number of turns- then your wheel is not set at the centre point of RACK travel,

Yup, same amount of turns both sides. Same lock point.

It's possible the haven't aligned the steering wheel properly before aligning, or maybe your camber is out which you can't Adjust on these cars

Camber is excellent no issues there (front and rear). Actually toe wasn't bad before ether, sliiightly out just to cause a light pull to the right.

Steering was perfect before, perfect center.

when you adjust the tracking, it can technically be done on one side only, however doing this knocks the steering wheel out of alignment, and is a bit lazy.
Or maybe one side was seized, so they cheated.

If this is the case, then potentially speaking, they'd have to take it up on one side while letting it out on the other.

If you don't want to upset everything, then you may get away with removing the steering wheel and rotating it by a spline.

Personally, i'd be tempted to take it back, and ask them to come with you for a ride.

Thanks guys.

Like I said steering wheel is now centered. I had to manually set the wheel and then tell him to align front wheels again although there was an error on the alignment tool.
