Hi,

I have a problem. I just changed my clutch kit and fork for my GP 1.4 8V 2007. After It was changed, my gear now cannot change to gear 2,3 4 and 5. I only have gear 1 & R.
I run a production/service calibration (multiecuscan) and it didnt worked. I went to execute Clutch Replacement and Delete Statistical data. It still didnt worked.
And after trying many times, finally the Production/serivce calibration worked. I can hear the plunger working and gear show in the dashboard go from R to N to 1,2,3,4,5.

But when I start the engine and run, it is only permissible at gear 1.
There is no Errors.
Please help me. Before I plug in the multiecuscan, my mechanic told me the gear can engaged 1,2,3 & 4 . It only after I try to do a EOL calibration that now I cannot engage gear 2,3,4,5.

thanks charlie for your reply.
The clutch change and fork looks OK. The mechanic didnt get anythign wrong.

I posted my multiecuscan log file here.

READING PARAMETERS:
Gear/engage position: 14.943 mm
Selection position: 18.722 mm
Clutch pressure plate travel: 16.576 mm
Clutch pressure plate reference: 16.576 mm
Clutch engaged position (self-adjusted): 16.613 mm
PIS spacer closed position (self-adjusted): 2.516 mm
Hydraulic circuit pressure: 41 bar
Clutch solenoid valve current: 0.0 mA
Solenoid valve current at zero flow: 943.8 mA

I cannot start the EOL procedure using MES. The system is not responding. What could be wrong?

feel for you mate! these dualogic's are a pain to get going once down! just scrapped my grande (even main dealer could not fix it) ?????

You checked the actuator or tried doing a DTC scan on the car to see if any errors come up?

The dialogic works of a lot of sensors. May sound daft but I'm sure read it looks into the break sensors to see if lights are on etc which if not right can effect the gearbox electrics. Just a thought

System not responding on a PC cab be a few things. More likely its corrupted or memory issue. Try uninstalling and re installing multiecu and see if that works

thanks for the advice, Took out the clutch and fixed it again, looks OK nothing wrong.

I wonder is the fault caused by the speed sensor, the one that looks lie a lipstick attached at the gearbox. my mechanic took it out and cleaned it, and it look normal, no dirt or damaged.

I plug in MES scan, and there error i have is P1818 Gear Change Control. It is intermittent.
"This error is caused by 1 of the following
1) An uncommanded gear disengagement detected
2) The selection of an incorrect range or an attempt to engaged the wrong gear is detected during a gear change.
3) Rotation speed too high on gear primary detected during gear change."

Sounds like a sensor is playing up or when new clutch been done the ECU not quite right. You tried resetting the ECU by discounting the battery for a hour and re connecting it? This may clear the fault that's coming up as the ECU will reset itself

You will need to reset the radio via a code. Not sure on how to do this on a gp but if don't have a code your local fiat garage can give it you. Usually be up to £30 if like most other manufactures

i have disconnected the battery multiple times, even overnight. The problem persist. I even use MES software to activate "the relearn function" in the gearbox

The mechanic has took out the actuator pin and grind & cut it to push the plunger better. In Alfa, the actuator rod can be adjusted, but GP cannot. So they grind and cut it, thinking that this could be the problem. But it is not helping.

Now my only solution is to find a working gear speed sensor (the one that is attached to the gearbox) and swap with my car.
Or pull out all the cables connecting the actuators and check pin 1 by 1, to see if any small wires is shorted.

Cutting any wire within the car could cause things not to work. Try a local scrap yard or even do a scrap search for a gearbox sensor. Be cheaper than dealer less know someone with same car that you could borrow there's to see

the problem is solved. I did a gear calibration using the multiecuscan and it solved the problem. The gears worked like normal after a successful calibration.

Doing a clutch calibration didnt help, it has to be a gear calibration.

I have to try to calibrate a few times before it works. I guess the laptop or the laptop cable connection could be the issue, as every time I start to calibrate, the software will just hang. After a few tries, calibration kicks in.
