My son has informed me that his local garage whilst having the MOT, has pointed out the High level rear brake lights dont work.
Passed the test Ok though.
Cant be a single bulb as the entire strip is out
I am wondering as he has the basic Punto 2010, 2 dr 1.4, would this have been wired up at the Factory
Just trying to avoid a special trip then to find no supply to it ?

Thanks for that reply, at least i know the lights are powered up on this model, whatever the mysterious fault

My money is on a break in the wires inside the flexible cover that the wires run through between the hatch and the car body - usual place they go

Check power at the light by removing the light (there's a thread under "guides") and check with a multi-meter, if no power then track back the wiring to the flexi rubber boot

Thanks all
It may be a few days before I can get access to the car as my son, lives away
I will let you know the outcome

Update
When I pulled out the lamp the connector was loose
Pushed that back in and perfect

I followed the instructions to remove the lamp:-
Remove the 2 rubber bungs inside the boot
Release the 2 clips underneath the lamp housing with a screwdriver and pushing the lamp upwards so that it released from the bodywork.
Didnt work - half in and half out
The bottom half released ok but the top half was firmly stuck into the bodywork
Finally with the little movement it provided, I found the top had 4 clips which I managed to release with a small bladed screwdriver
Pushing these additional clips down finally released the lamp
