Hi I have an issue with my passenger electric window, it works from the passenger door. But on the driver door the light for it is out and it won't operate from the driver door button. Is this a simple fuse issue, does the switch need repaired or would it be a split wire somewhere?

i "had" the same problem- at now its not my general problem. At now i can only open window on passenger side, but it doesnt come up, theres even not a sound when im trying. And on the driver door i cant open my window and cant close(its just doesnt work at all). Where is the problem? Maybr somebody had the same problem or can tell where i need to start looking for.

Thanks.

The problem is in the body control unit. It's very common. There are no fuses or relays for windows. I had same problem and have had diagnostics checked At local garage but no joy.
I took it to fiat and they said body control unit needs replacing.
£548 it cost me.
I wi never buy a fiat again.

Agree not perfect but the BCU is the second one fitted in the last two years. Warranty only lasts 1 year on new parts fitted by main dealer fiat. Not good. We've had door locks, window switches, heater resistor, and wiring loom, sump,ECU and electric power steering all replaced over two years. I paid £4000 for an 09 Punto two years ago from fiat main dealer. I've spent £3200 on it. That's why I will never buy a fiat again.

I had seen a thing somewhere where the issue is actually at the connector for the driver door wiring loom I'll buy one and have a go at fitting it to see if it Cures my issue. I think it is my problem because if I hold in the connector and have someone hit the button on the passenger door the window will go up and down

It'll probably be easier and cheaper to take your loom out and wrap up the dodgy wires. Or find an independent auto electrician to do it (had my loom rewired for £10 when this happened to me).
Yeah I just ended up taking it out and having a go myself. Fixed the broken wires and it worked fine. 20170314_194000.jpeg

How far back in the loom was the break ???

Hi The breaks were halfway back under the rubber as seen in the picture. I took off the door card, disconnected the connector from the car body and pulled the loom through the door to give me more room to work at it.
I then folded the rubber back to reveal the breaks then I just used straight crimp connectors and heat shrink to repair the breaks.
Put it back in place and it worked.

I tried to pull the rubber back , was a bit tricky but couldn't see any breaks , might have to take off the card to get better access

Yeah if you push the connector and the rubber into the door channel. Then when you take the card off you can get much better access to the cables.

Also if you have a multimeter or a continuity tester you can check if you have a break.

+1 for broken wires. Had the same problem with the daughter's car. It's a very poor design and the copper conductors fatigue after several years of opening and closing the door! I got a second hand door loom for £35 and fitted that.

Hi all , the problem i have is is that i can hear a clicking noise from inside the door when i operate the switch , sometimes it goes up n down fine but sometimes it doesn't do anything but there's always a click , sound like the wires to you guys ???
