I was on motorway at 70 mph in 6th gear. Suddenly engine was not being drive by 6th gear. Gears 1 to 5 and reverse work fine, can select 6th gear.

Has anyone else had this issue? Would appreciate any information before I get the gearbox changed at £800 min.

Hi All,

The issue was the 6th gear bearing had gone and the sixth gear was sheared. The garage told me they took off the 5th, 6th gear cover and could see the damage.

I waited 2 weeks for the parts from fiat, it took the garage a couple of hours to change.

This was a gearbox specialist garage, who had not seen this issue before.

Total cost £432, now back on road.
