Looking for a bit of help.

I have been doing some searching and was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Pre CAT / Downpipe's for the 1.9 astra H will fit our GP 1.9 engines?

The reason I ask is there miles cheaper for the astra H than the limited choice for our GPS's

Not entirely sure, i know its the same for the EGR - again with the massively cheaper price.

This is the astra pipe - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/V...2248a318fd37e979205289acf64ee23f28a87a&000879

Maybe give the manufacturer Klarius a call, i know they supply some exhaust bits for fiat as well as vauxhall from what ive seen on eurocarparts (01538 752 561 or [email protected]) and just ask if the downpipe would also fit fiats mjet. I will have a better look over the internet this evening.

Might just be a case of ordering it and offering it up to the car, if it doesnt fit then returning it - presuming you get it from somewhere with a returns policy and assuming your looking to do the work yourself. Only other alternative is finding a local scrappy with an mjet and getting the downpipe from there. Breaker yard is a pretty good website if your looking for specific parts and im fairly sure they can get you parts from other breakers in the country but dont take my word for that you'd have to ask.

Just fill the fields in with your reg etc etc, then they will send you a quote via e-mail.

If it's the 130 bhp astra 1.9 then yeah it should fit , both this engine and the fiat one are the same I believe

Not sure Vauxhall did a 130 version of their 1.9, only a 120 and 150? Then again it might make no difference if both the 120 and 150 use the same downpipe

The parts I've been looking at just quote it being a 1.9 so no reason to believe it wouldn't be for all of them. For £60 I think I might just order it. I can return up to 14 days but have to pay for return postage which I can live with

This thread has had me thinking about a decat now, looking at what the Astra guys do with their CDTI, a new precat seems to be a popular mod which frees up the turbo to breath a bit better and a few hp to be had. Are these just the same as the ragazzon decats, only really interested in the precat as i dont want anything loud as ive still got to be in the car everyday and it seems the precat has best gains for you money

Ye from what I've found it looks exactly the same as the ragazon pipe but just not as nicely made. The one I found has two welds. The ragazon one looks to be one piece. It's only carrying exhaust gases though isn't it so shouldn't be enough to blow any welds (inside fast and furious jokes here) so gonna order tomorrow I think.

Here I am :D

The 1.9 8v and 16v decat downpipe for the astra cdti's fit perfectly, our cars are an 8v, and I used the 16v downpipe.

If you're ever looking for parts and you can't find them for a decent price, try looking for them for a cdti, more common and cheaper.

While you're getting the downpipe fitted, get the 2nd cat removed by the exhaust place, if you have a dpf instead of a cat you've got a whole boatload of trouble to sort haha

Sweet! Im unsure whether to get a precat decat (such a silly thing to say out loud) as its pretty well documented for a few bhp gain but allowing the turbo to breath a lot better as its meant to be quite restrictive. I dont know though, we will see. Let us know how it goes.

The precat had a 2.0 inch bottleneck compares to the 2.5 width of the rest of the system, it's important you get rid of it if you're going for more power, some people just gut it out but that's not good for airflow at all.

On a side note, I'll have a dyno graph up on monday with boost readings too, I'm hoping for 220bhp and 340 ft/lb with power right to the top end if anyones interested.

Only planning on changing the first cat for the pre cat downpipe as i have the DPF version of the GPS.
The downpipe i have ordered for the astra was only £60 so thought it worth a punt (no punto pun intended) anyway.
I'll provide a link to it once it has come on Monday and I have had chance to fit it and testify that it all fits as it should, before telling people to go and order one.

Nice, you're running a different turbo?

Aye a hybrid from a vectra 8v, was a pain to make it all fit would have been better getting my standard turbo turned into a hybrid but the vectra one was a top billet unit

At least your road tax is cheap, non dpf is £140!

Very nice! And yeah £99 for 6 months isn't particularly cheap but i'd sooner pay for the tax on a GPS than have one of the new euro compliant diesels that sound like a bag of hammers!

Whats the bigger unit like, does it still come on around 2k or you getting it much earlier (also what does your poor m32 think of all that extra torque haha)
