Hi - after getting my last set of problems fixed (updated thread) I've got a couple more after leaving the car sitting over the holiday.

It won't start - it's turning over but not starting. If I turn the key to maximum it starts making a clicky/raspy noise.

I've got CANCHECK showing on radio (started a couple of weeks ago) and last time I used it, the mileage was flashing.

Could these all be related to a finished battery?

yeah your battery is dead.. get it charged and test the alternator check its charging.. frost damaged mine last week..

Thanks - will pick one up on the way home and keep my fingers crossed that it's not the alternator. Is there an easy way to check?

I've noticed that when the car is at lights, the fans aren't as strong, but as soon as I move again, they/re louder and more powerful, most noticeable on 4. Don't know if that's related too...

Incidentally, the term "turning over", doesn't mean you can turn the key.
It means that the engine is rotating.

I knew that, Keat. I didn't mean to give the impression I was talking about just turning the key. Apologies.

Anyways, one of the cells in the battery had short circuited. All fixed now but CANCHECK is still showing. Look's like I'll be using my phone as my radio for the time being...

CAN CHECK... might mean that the car is not connected to the car's CAN network..check continuity of wires.
OR it can mean that you need to have PROXI ALIGNMENT .. to have the car's body computer comunicate to the radio... ..you need Multiecuscan.. or Examiner.
