Hi everyone

Iv got a slight oil leak coming from between the sump and gearbox, apparantly its the main oil seal that is on its way out!
Can anyone confirm this please??

And if so, is there any way to get to it without it being an absolute pain in the arse?

Thank you

Hi theres some stuff on ebay that you put in the oil and it makes the seal softer. Its the seal which has gone hard which is why it could be leaking. I had a shogun from new and when it was 8 years old had the same problem so put this stuff in and after a few thousand miles the leak stopped. Cant think what it was called but it was stp or whynes i think. Stephen.

Don't use any of these products. Stay away. As far as you can lol

Find where's the leak first. If it's from the seal on the sump you have to remove it and replace the seal.

You would have to remove the gearbox to be able to definitively say if it's from the main seal or from the pump.. or maybe even from the gearbox seal.
