Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 GP 1.4 16v with around 32,000 on the clock. I bought it from Desira in London 2 years ago and at the same time purchased an extended warranty of sorts from the dealer which appeared to cover most of the major things that could go wrong with the car in the next couple of years. I am unable to post a link to the policy brochure but if you Google 'desira platinum plus' it is the first or second link with the PDF attached.

It came back from its most recent service and Desira picked up two items which I consider covered on the policy:

- Gearbox oil seal leak
- HT coil casings cracked

They are currently hiding behind the old 'wear and tear' line but wondered if anybody had any experience with these sort of items on services and would you consider these wear and tear? The terms and conditions of the warranty explicitly covers oil seals and 'casings due to faulty parts'.

What do you think - can these be classed as wear and tear?
 
Yep, car warranties are usually not worth the paper they are printed on.

I couldnt find the exact warranty you mentioned online. All i could find was info on their total care package. But looking at that, it would seem that both these issues are considered wear and tear
 
I'm getting the impression that they are useless!! £600 down the drain eh?

The terms and conditions seem to include the items just a case of arguing with the warranty company....:bang::bang:
