Hi new member here, Posting on behalf of my girlfriend who has been having issues with her 2006 GP 1.4 8v Active Sport.

Issues include:

Poor MPG,
Poor Starting - often a few attempts to start some mornings she's saying
Rough running/ idle - constantly fluctuating up and down
Excessive coolant temperature warning on cold start up
Outside Ice warning even though its like 20c outside! haha!

And more recently, Engine light coming on and car then cutting out when it seems to be raining heavy! She also did have the mileage flashing on the display but hasn't happened for a few months now apparently.

So a fair few problems, Have had a go at trying to sort a few issues myself such as:

New Plugs and leads
New lambda sensor after cat convertor
New air filter
New Coil Pack
Exhaust welded up as had a slight blow on back box
Cleaned throttle body out with carb cleaner.

Car went through MOT last month and tester had a right issue trying to get the car through emissions test - high lambda readings despite new lambda sensor plus the revs wouldn't hold for fast idle test,

Unfortunately i'm at my wits end trying to sort the car and cant think of much else to try now, hence turning to you FIAT experts for your advice!

I have read that a MAP sensor may be looking at next to be on the replace list? Worth doing?

Sorry for the essay guys, Over to you!

Hi poor mpg/idle all suggest maf sensor. As for engine cutting out is any moisture getting onto the coilpack? Flashing milage is a proxy alignment issue, OR, more likely low voltage coming from the battery. The fact that it hasnt happened for a while suggests that was the cause. Excessive coolant temp is most likely the temp sensor playing up. And the out side temp sensor is located on the drivers side mirror, possibly faulty hense the ice warning?
