Hi guys,

First of all my apologies if this is the wrong section. Also I did some research and I couldn't find a clear answer on this.

I have a faulty external air temperature sensor in my GP 1.9 MJ (the nipple under the passenger mirror) and I can't find a replacement.

The only thing I can find is an aftermarket mirror for around 35£ but I am aware that there is a replacement sensor 71753245. I don't really think I need a new mirror as mine is perfectly fine, apart from the sensor.

Does anyone know where to get this part? Nobody seems to have it. Do I really have to change the entire mirror?

Thanks in advance - Alex

It displays the wrong temperature, i.e. displays close to 0 temperatures when there are 20 degrees.

I checked the contacts and it seems ok, I guess it's the sensor that is not reading properly

No, it didn't help. I found the part and am going to change it this weekend.

Fingers crossed, I'll change it today the moment it stops raining...

Thx! I managed to work on it in the afternoon, this morning was awful :)

All fine, it was the sensor. The sensor comes attached to the cable, so I replaced everything. Part was roughly 15 pounds.

Quite simple, just need to be careful with the plastic bits that hold the covers in place and with the mirror itself, managed to get it done in 30 minutes.
