So I go to spray all bushes rubbers kounting to get my creaking to stop and found this its attached to my brake caliper but what does it do?

its a thingy majig that stops the whatcha-macall it :shrug:
that is a broken thingy majig (brake pad wear indicator cable) that has snapped off the whatchamacall it ( left wheel arch loom section))

Your best bet is a soldering iron and heatshrink tubing to insulate your repair...

Would my 2008, on an '08', have brake pad sensors?
should have however if aftermarket brake pads have been fitted some dont come with the pad sensor fitted...
