I've looked online and found from the handbook that this dashboard light means "car protection system fault". I think this is the second time I've had this now but goes away as soon as I turn the engine off. Without being ripped off having to get fiat or a garage to plug a diagnostics machine into my car is there a common fault that causes this? I've got led side lights in that obviously cause a dash error but I can live with that. Just wondering to if they are linked?

If it comes up once in a blue moon then it can be ignored as a blip, if a tad more frequent then might be worth investigating.

If like the Stilo then it'll come on if you start the car while it's rolling (ie restart after stalling and letting the car roll when starting). Had it a few times on the Stilo when doing a rolling start but no long term issues.

Only thing i can think of then is that as i was slowing down its been in too high a gear, cut out verrrrry briefly and restarted itself without me realising. Will keep an eye on it if it happens a third time. Cheers for the advice.

I stand corrected then haha. Although 1. Wouldn't it just be FIRE if the E stands for engine (me being pedantic) 2. Why no tipple on a Friday haha 3. Just having a read of your thread, although having had a tipple myself I'll revisit in the morning I think
