Can anyone help...?

Fiat Grande Punto chassis number is ZFA199000.00313115.

Did phone Fiat UK yesterday, the six speed gearbox is apparently a C544 unit.

Looking for a replacement unit - however it seems that C544 doesn't really relate to very much in the world outside of Fiat...

I've got the car booked in to have the gearbox changed on Monday next - however at the moment it looks like it might all end in tears:(

If anyone can help, I'd be really please to hear from you, please PM me soonest.

I'm doing up the car as a replacement for my daughter's recently smashed Seicento.

Fingers are tightly crossed.

Cheers all

Can some nice person check with ePER, I'll text the owner now, to see where reverse is..?

Thanks for your help

Hi, yep, did send this earlier, but think this app may be suspect. Anyway, reverse is fwds and next to 1st gear. Hope this helps. Also. Does anyone have any good photos of this gearbox please?

Cheers
Jon

You see, my problem and it is my problem. Is that I don't actually know / I'm not 100% sure that the M32 is what my car has...

That is the basis of this thread... Does my car - without ANY doubt, have an M32 gearbox fitted?

I have booked the car into the garage - they are all set up and ready to remove my gearbox and to refit a healthy box this coming Monday.

If I can be 101% sure that an M32 is correct, I can order one and all the jigsaw pieces fall into place...

Cheers

It's the time I suppose and the ramp that the car will be occupying in the workshop. Yep, its a 1.9 multijet UK spec.

"Incorrect vin number please retry"

Sure that's the correct number you posted?

@JOHNFIAT check the chassis number you have provided, or has been provided for you here http://www.vindecoder.net/?vin=ZFA199000000313115+&submit=Decode

Since the VIN comes back unknown, and there is no other full proof evidence of the car thus far, then nobody can provide meaningful advice so that you can be 102% sure, because the vehicle model/specification cannot be confirmed.

Since you are looking to buy from someone, in what appears to be a hurry, get a copy of the DVLA registration document from the owner, and confirm here what the paperwork states.

Otherwise sounds a bit fishy. Have you been to see and drive the car yourself? If not it could cost you.....

Thinking about the VIN, Fiat UK managed to decode it, so I should think its ok. I am sure that the gearbox is an M32 unit, everyone seems to think so, I'll go with the experts here. I haven't ordered one yet, but have found a recon one available. Cheers Jon :)
