Hey all,

Just this week, I have had a clunking noise coming from the front left wheel area when steering. I shouldn't dry steer, but it happens when the car isn't moving too. I had a look under the arch as someone else steered it for me and I noticed the highest spring with the coloured stickers (Sorry, I dont know the technical terms - I presume its part of the suspension) that moves slightly when steering, the one on the left wheel judders and makes the noise I am hearing rather than just moving from left to right smoothly so that is definitely what is causing the noise.

Can anyone tell me what is causing that, or what exactly the problem is and if I am able to fix this myself?

Thanks,

Jamie

Mine dose the same took it to garage and they oiled to top mound were you can see under the bonnet and mine got a lot better still there a tiny bit but nothing you can tell unless your listening for it don't know if its the same in your vase but thought Maby worth a try for you

Just change the top strut bearing the part is under £40 and there is a step by step guide on here in the guide section it took me about an hoir and a half to do mine this is a common issue with the grande

Grab the spring near the middle and shake it, if it moves with too much play it'll be that, and if it is, you may aswell change the top mount while your there
