Hey guys I've brought a elm 137 cable and the 3 adapters but I can't get it to find and reset the fault code on my t-jet.

It won't let me connect but only run the simulation mode as it says I have to upgrade, is this right?

What exactly are you trying to do

Trying to clear the fault for the post cat sensor as I have a decat & I've done it on mine before with my mates fault code scanner but I got one myself now but it doesn't come up with the code.

use the bottom left (F9..?) button,

then do a TEST of connectivity.. are you using KKL ir ELM,

Connection is fine and changed the latency, but saying that when you go in to where you can view the engine temp etc... The figures jump about randomly

Simulation mode does not reflect your engine parameters. It will run even without the cable connected and just give random figures

Ohh I see so I have to get the full version to connect to the car? Which I thought I wouldn't need as it should let me connect normally

You only need the full version to do certain things the free can't, the free should still connect and do some tasks as per their website

It's weird the software doesn't work that well, downloaded Gendan Engine Check Le and I managed to clear the fault code.

Works fine for me and a lot of others, I'd suggest it might be computer configurations on the machine you're using

I know mate, all the PC settings are correct.

I went back on to ecu scan and realised some modules come up in read and some in blue.

Are the ones in blue free to access and red ones you have to upgrade?

Mine is registered and has worked perfectly with a load of different cars.

I have a registered version and I have connectivity issues. The obd is connected to the laptop but the ecumultiscan doesnt like it, after messing with the settings it almost tries to connect then complains about reliability issues or says it cannot connect at all.. A google search has led me to believe the elm units are the problem! Mine is bluetooth though, so my problem could be different to yours.

All my interfaces have been usb to tell you the truth. I don't trust bluetooth all that much.

Yes, that's exactly what the red and blue listings mean.
I've never bothered trying to use it unregistered - it's amazingly cheap to register considering what it does, and it takes only a few minutes to get it up and running. Yani has invested his livelihood in developing the software to support practically every FIAT and Alfa Romeo model anywhere in the world.

A few years ago, badly-written professional software, that worked with only a few ECUs, was priced into four figures

I managed to clear my fault code in the end with gendan engine check Le. I may register my multi ecu scan in the future but I still get this feeling it won't work lol

Ah well, whatever gets the job done is good

I work on lots of different FIAT/Alfas on things like Selespeeds and air conditioning, so MultiECUScan is worth it for me, but I can understand that once you've found something that works, problem solved I'll keep Gendan engine check in mind. Their adaptor set is really handy.
