As the title says I have a clicking and creaking from the front right wheel on my GP at the minute.

It seems to be clicking at 40mph quietly but is a constant noise.
Also at low speed and when under braking at low speed the noise turns into a creaking and cracking until I stop mainly under light braking.

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Thanks in advance.

Could be a number of things such as cv joint, driveshaft, wheel bearing etc, I had a piece of my wheel arch hanging down and hitting my tyre making me think it was my cv joint but it wasn't it was that so I snipped that bit off, so try that mate :)

Thanks for the reply,
I have had the wheel bearings changed in the last 4 months so not sure if it will be that.

There is the same clicking when stationary when turning the steering wheel but just from side to side not on lock or even quarter turn?

Also check the hub nut on end of driveshaft. As wheel bearings have been changed, if not tightened properly this can become loose. If it has become loose, it may have damaged wheel bearings and/or CV joint. If so, get the previous repairer to fix it FOC.

Bit of an update on the noise it has happened when I was waiting for the lights to change and my car was rolling slowly forward and the road must have gone uphill slightly and my car came to a stop without me pressing the footbrake?

Does this make a difference as to what it could be?

I've been and had the wheel off and I have moved the disc brake back and forth and it makes a horrible cracking noise, also I have Cohen that there is a squeak now at around 20mph up to 70mph and it gets more frequent the faster I go? Could this be the driveshaft?

"moved the disc brake back and forth" suggests rocking, which would point to wheel bearings, or bottom ball joint, but it should be easy to see which bit is moving. If you mean rotating it, that is different.

Don't understand the term "Cohen".

I had all 4 replaced about 6 months ago?? Should the driveshaft make any noise at all when the wheel is spun?

Only a very quiet noise of bits moving inside, rubber flexing and perhaps the diff gears meshing.

If the outer or inner CV joint are making noises, they will need replacing. Have any of the gaiters split allowing the grease out?

Normally to check CV joints, put on full steering and move gently, if worn they will click. Repeat on opposite lock. Quiet area with space, listen for which side, or have helper stood near car. Don't run them over.

Cohen was a predictive text mistake, but the noise occurs when turn in the disc forward and then back.

The noise is constant when moving and becomes quicker with speed but as a soon as I touch the brakes or while the brakes are on there is no noise at all, tried putting clutch in at various speeds and the noise stays??

Hub nut loose? Have you checked it yet?
Wheel bearings breaking up. Don't assume ok, despite recent replacement.
CV Joint worn out. Most likely from your description. get it fixed soon, before it spits its balls across the road leaving you stranded.
