Could someone explain why I only require a resistor on one side to defeat the error and not both? I was playing about and checking my lights tonight and noticed I only need one in? What's the deal with that?

Running LED sidelights with a resistor... But only in one side..

Point being if I only ever need one for the front, I'll get two for the numberplate lights and run LEDS in them too

i had the same thing, think it was drivers side thats all i needed, hence why i have them in the number plates too, they might just only pick up the power from one side and set that as the power level it should be at. if that makes sense?

So do I only need one in the numberplate too? How does the rear end work?

Yeah I think that's what I have done. I just pulled the light out and put the resistor in then put the light back in. Once you pull the housing out it will make more sense

So what side does the numberplate one have to go in? Also drivers side?

I got two resistors and fit one and it knocked my error light off for the sidelights so I put the other in the number plate light and now I have no error lights :)

I've had a look and both my number plate bulbs needed resistors as both them had them in
