Hi guys,
Recently I have been looking into retrofitting a skydome roof (a factory option which mine does not have) onto my car. As far as I can see the skeleton of the roof both with and without the skydome is the same, it doesn't seem like there is any extra roof supports that would interfere in my car. It would seem both cars are the same except for the central part of the roof (and a lot of wiring I imagine), one is metal and the other a skydome, the metal roof is held in by plastic strips where the skydome is bonded which is the only major difference I can find with regards to construction.

I know this may seem crazy and its almost certainly easier to just sell up and buy one with a sunroof, but I quite fancy a project and have a good knowledge of electrical systems. Was wondering if any of you had come across anyone who's done this before or know if it can be done??? (even if buying a one with a skydome would be easier).

I reckon this would be a mammoth task! But if your set on it then good luck!

I don't know if the sky dome bodyshell is different but with enough prep and planning I bet it could be done

And I think you will find your original roof skin is spot welded in place not held by the plastic strips lol

I was thinking of doing the same. Did you manage to do it? If so, how did you do it?
