Hi,

I've recently bought some abarth headlights for the S2 GP.
My car is the S2: 58 reg, dark grey headlights, new interior design etc but it looks like it's using the headlight connector from the S1?

When I tried to fit the headlights the abarth connector was a purple circle shape and in my car it was a rectangle block connector - no match.

Anyway this left me pretty confused, if this is the case then I'll just follow the guide to fit S1 lights into a S2, but it seems odd to me.

I could also just be an absolute idiot who hasn't spotted something.

Anyway comments would be appreciated.

Your car was probably one of the first S2's, quite a few have a mixture of S1 and S2 components.

Can you exchange the lights for ones with an S1 connector rather than have to mess about with the wires?

Can't swap the headlights as I bought them off someone on here along with his alloys. Not his or my fault. I will see if I can use the connector from my sporting lights on the abarth lights. There's a guide for it so should be do-able.

How can you tell whether your car js an s2 or an s1 ??

Usually it's 58 reg and onwards, however there may be some 08s. On the sportings you can tell by the dark grey lights, newer interior, cruise control as standard? Not too sure i'm sure someone else can explain it better haha.

Red badges usually always mean s2. Other s2 updates include different interiors like the carbon fibre style, Flip out key etc.

There are a few really minor differences i've heard of. For example when you press the indicator switch (rather than click it) it will blink for 3 times on an s1 and 5 times on an 2 (or so i've heard)

mine doesnt do anything othe indicator thing

Where did you hear that? Mine is 100% an S2 and it only does 3 blinks

I read it on here ages ago!!!!!!

I remember because I was jealous

EDiT: BTW I have an s2 as well and it only blinks 3 times

The S2 had the striped seats, rather than the spotted ones, they have "soft touch" indicators (when they blink for 3 times) They also have a Carbon effect Dash. I also think that they have the smoked headlights? (mine also has the smoked rear lights, but I think they're a custom install (not had it long!)

Ahh good point about the soft touch indicators, I thought they were on the s1 as well. Carbon effect dash was standard on the GP trim (although it could be installed on other trims)

Smoked headlights were on the s2 sporting only, other trim has standard chrome headlights
