As the title says. Went in to a kerb in a car park only doing about 10 15 max. Couldn't see the curb (was sheet rain). Any who air bags went off. Drivers seat belt tensioners have fired. Rear and passenger ok.

Can someone please advise me as to what I will need to put it back on the road? Both airbags, drivers seat belt, top mount or shock absorber I think.

Anything else?
Car looks visualy fine externally, steering seems straight and drives fine (after I sorted the fuel cut off)

Thanks

Oh dear, sounds like the safety systems over reacted. I'd get the suspension looked at, you might have bent a trackrod or something. I've also heard people saying that the airbag ecu needs changing but one of the fiat techs on here will give you a better answer on that.

Yea heard about the airbag ecu think its just hit the sweet spot. Thankfully everyone is ok! Iv priced up the airbags and the ecu and its reasonable. The steering seems umm rough tbh but It may just be me, not too sure. Also do I need to get a seatbelt from fiat or another fiat car?

you will need to replace the seatbelt as the pirotechnic charge is in the spool

when you order your airbag ecu you need to ensure its identical to the car you have as there are at least 4-5 types iirc the active spec came with just 2 bags (driver and passenger) higher specs came with curtain and side bags... then the same for the S2 GP's know most of the loom is different in the s2 cars the seatbelts are different too (iirc) then throw in the bags out of the GP Evo which have the outputs programmed for the knee bag as well

I don't believe the airbag ecu is once use only, just needs resetting I thought - but I could be wrong.

And like Andy says you need replacement airbags, seat belts for driver and passenger.

I would get the chassis checked around the area that hit the curb also, that must have been a harder hit than you thought as SRS systems rarely over react, and may have done chassis damage :(

Got a pic of it all

No pic atm. Just had it checked. I have a list... Ahem...

1.airbags passenger and steering wheel.

2airbag ecu if needed

3 drivers seatbelt

4new dash (not sure if I can glue it or not?)

5new windscreen

6 passenger wishbone

7. Passenger topmount

8 subframe :(

9 subframe braces :(

Can you not just reset the ecu?

You've forgotten passenger seatbelt, if your pretension went off that one would have also, even if no-one sitting there.

Dash cannot be glued, needs to be replaced.

Steering wheel will be ok, only needs to be the bag that's replaced.

The passenger seatbelt returns and locks fine tho. It hasn't locked like the drivers has. Ok I'll add new dash to my list :)

If your passenger airbag went off then I'm 99% sure the passenger pretensioner would have fires also, the only reason its working fine is the fact you didn't have 10stone of passenger against the pretensioner then it fired.

i had some1 in the passenger seat tho. it locked at impact but now works fine. is there any way of testing? also where do you buy seatbelts from?

If someone was in the seat then it needs changing without question, regardless of if the pretensioner has fired or not. Belts a designed to stretch ever so slightly upon impact when they lock up, and it's not something you can easily test.

Seatbelts need to be new, or from a none accident damaged car (or only one that's been damaged with no-one in the car wearing the belts).

Oh i see your point... Okay then but where do i get new belts from? Bit weary of getting some off ebay from a scrappy or a someone breaking a car tbh

Is this an insurance claim if not would it not be cheaper to spares repairs and move on

Its not an insurance claim. In all honesty what's the general opinion. Considering subframe damage and airbag damage what's the general concensus?
