Would anybody be able to help me, ive a 1.4 16v Sporting Fiat Grande Punto and the engine light was on, brought it to the mechanics today to plug it in -the code P1171 came up but the thing that was wrong never showed on his computer in his codes? :/ We went through his diagnostics programme and p1171 wasn't there at all! He told me to search for it and get back to him so we can sort the problem out... now i've googled it and im getting a few different results, would anyone know for sure what it is? Just want to get parts and get it fixed ASAP. Cheers.

Quick search came back with fuel mixture being lean under acceleration?
And another one said that it could be throttle potentioner/potentionmetre cant remember which spelling.
But these are generic codes not fiat official ones.
