Since ive owned the car the only thing that seems to fit in the socket is the pump that came with the car, no satnav chargers iphone chargers anything 12v will fit in, does anyone else have this problem

Its a common issue.
When cigar lighters were invented, the Japanese created one slightly smaller diameter than the European one. Most world manufacturers soon adopted the smaller size, except Fiat, who still stick with the larger one.

You need a plug with a tight spring.
Or some plugs from Maplin I think come with a sleeve around them, but as yet no-one has found a source for sleeves on their own.
Or make your own sleeve.
Or replace the cig socket with a smaller aftermarket one.

Ahhh i see thought that as the pump didnt fit in the mondeo socket, ill have to get another one popped in its rather annoying, and the usbs in glovebox dont charge grr
