I have a 1.9 M-jet in Crete. Most of the year I have had a problem starting for the first time each day - takes several turns before it fires, then for the rest of the day there is no problem. Performance and economy is fine.

Bearing in mind that the temperatures here most of the time are in the upper 20's, its not really a "cold start" as we know it in the UK.

Glow plugs have been changed, the local Fiat dealer has plugged in his laptop and scratched his head, and an independent garage has cleaned the injectors, all with no improvement.

In the last week the temperature here has dropped to around 12-14 degrees, and for the past few days suddenly the car has been starting first turn !!

Any suggestions from our experts as to what this could point to? I have noticed this week that suddenly the glow plug light is staying on a bit longer too.

Hi mate mine does the same I believe it's the battery not throwing out enough volts to get a good turn on the engine to fire I'm charging my battery soon and will let you know if it does the trick , I have also changed glow plugs and done basics
