T-Jet engine

Hey guys, I don't know if this has been asked before but is the T-jet engine in the Bravo the exact same as the one in the Punto, gear box as well?

Re: T-Jet engine

It depends, the 150 t-jet in the bravo has a 6 speed box.
You will need the 120 version from the bravo for the 5 speed.
I cant guarantee that the mounts are the same although they should be.

Re: T-Jet engine

Well i know that the Bravo and Punto both have 6 speed T-Jet engines and I am wondering if they are both the same because if they are then I am going to buy the Bravo one and put it in my punto as I cant seem to find any punto's breaking online but I can find loads of Bravo's.

Should be the same, only gear selectors can be different

Re: T-Jet engine

Thats what I was thinking, logic says that they would be the same seeing as though they are both outputting 120bhp and they are both 6 speed also why would Fiat bother making a different engine?

Re: T-Jet engine

The t-jet in the punto is a 5 speed not a 6... although the 1.9m jet has a 6 speed so it will fit, not sure of mounts though.
And the bravo has a different intake routing as well. So you would have to get a punto t jet air box.

Re: T-Jet engine

Lol, u sure?
They have either been converted to a 6 speed or are advertised wrong. They didn't do a 6 speed in the punto t-jet, although it would really benefit one.

The 155bhp abarth puntos have a t-jet engine and six speed box but all of the 120 t-jets are only five speed. Could you not buy the engine only and use the original gearbox?

That wasn't aimed at you sweex, it was for the OPs information only.

I also assumed the op has a t-jet to start (with a knackered engine) with but can't see the signature on android so I'm not too sure. If the op is suggesting an engine up-grade then the standard advice is to forget it and buy a proper t-jet as otherwise it will cost a fortune to modify and insure.
Thanks Sweex thanked for this post
