Had a hell of a day, I only got back from holiday this morning and went out to go to the shop and the car started fine then drove to two shops then came back about (8 mile all round trip) then went to start it again then didn't start, starter motor clicking then the speedo needles spazed out, managed to bump start it, turn it off then wouldn't start again then jump started it then it was fine then left in my garage to see if it would charge for 30 mins but didn't. Went to halfrauds brought a new battery now it seems fine. I would check the alternator but I know no one with one and halfrauds wanted £50 for one lol

My questions is, is my alternator screwed?

If not why did the car start fine 3 times and drove normally with no lights on the dash before it wouldn't start the 4 time?
