Hi there I have recently had my t jet remapped. The increase in torque is great, only negative is as the turbo is so small the boost dies off quickly.

Anyway what my question is to those with remapped t jets is does your car feel like there is no boost in 1st gear?

In 2nd gear onwards I can feel the turbo kick in near 3000rpm but in 1st I don't get that same pull at all.

I'm just wondering whether this is "normal"

Cheers

I've noticed that, but I'm still curious as to whether the stock turbo should be boosting in 1st gear.

When I pull away regardless of revs the turbo is not kicking in at all.

I guess I was hoping there was someone on here with the stock turbo and a remap that could comment.

I'd take it back to the mapping place, it should boost in all gears regardless, I've just put a vl36 Abarth turbo on my tjet and it holds boost all through the rev range

Forgot to update the thread. I called him the next day and he said to come down, he drove it and said it was "normal".

It doesn't seem right to me, the car sometimes doesn't even boost in 2nd and 3rd either.

The car just doesn't seem right. I did a search and came across posts by gymjunkie who mentioned the standard re-circ valve can sometimes cause issues after a remap so I'm tempted to change it to see if that fixes it.

The other option is to ask the remapper for my money back as its under 14 days and he apparently offers a money back guarantee, although not sure how easy it is to get your money back.

There should be boost in all gears, he's done something wrong if it isnt doing it in 2nd and 3rd aswell, it might be worth plumbing a boost gauge in temporary and tell him to come down again and show him the readings and prove its not running right. Is it just a plug in and play map?
