Hi, I'm a new driver I passed my test a few days ago and got myself a GP and was just wondering what is the average mpg on a 1.2 dynamic? I filled up with £50 and I need it to last me a month, how many miles should I be doing a week? Thanks

Ive got the same car for my 1st car and £20 gives me half a tank and that lasts me more than a week, im currently getting 40.6 mpg so i wouldnt worry about it.

What sort of driving are you doing?

I'd say that should be good for about 300-350 miles.

Thanks, well I'm driving in rush hour every morning for about 30 minutes and about 5/10 minutes of that is on the motorway and the rest just driving to the shops etc.

Going home from my girlfriends last night it's about 15mins on a dual carriageway. I got about 52mpg from doing 60 all the way I couldn't believe it and that was WITH both of us and two suitcases and other stuff in the car. HEAVY with all her shoes lol

Hahah thanks, well I had a full tank driving to Manchester last night and when I got home my fuel gauge was on one notch from a full tank and when I got in this morning it went back up to a full tank haha

Congratulations on passing your test and getting the GP..

My 1.2 would do between 35 and 45 mpg depending on the drive i was doing...

back roads (fun ;) ) singletrack and pooting about in town it would average about 35mpg...

long A road drive at about 55-60mph i was looking about 45mpg

motorways about 40mpg

Keep your car well serviced and the tyres at the correct pressures and it will help a fair bit,...

also a clean car uses less fuel (smoother/ clean bodywork = less drag) :D

Thanks, that's helped me a lot I'll try using A roads more of the time then.

I found that too actually, going from my 1.2 grande to my 1.4 grande sporting. :)

1.2 very revvy, not very quick but it is very good fun around corners. (y)

Yeah I thought that, it is very revvy but really good fun to drive just like driving a go-kart hahah

no worries also a half decent quality fuel will give better MPG something like Shell or BP over supermarket fuel in my experience i got better MPG and the car run smoother on V-power (super unleaded) dont expect it to make the car go any faster however ;) but its 10 pence per litre more than standard unleaded its upto you if its worth it....

but a tank full every now and again can do good due to the extra cleaning additives in it

I think I'll just use normal unleaded incase I mess my engine up in someway hahah thanks anyway :)
