hi all im getting a loud whining noise its intermittent at low speeds then faster i go its just continous whining noise has got louder other the last month im thinking its the diff bearing but we had it up in the air and passenger side front wheel had a bit of a wobble we run engine through gears while listen to gearbox sounded like bearing was on its way out but not much noise as no resistence when in air i checked oil and oil ok can the bearings be bought and replaced been searching net but cant find any.
checked wheel bearing there fine is there any way to check diff bearing or anyone have any ideas what else it could be thanks

I could be wrong on this but if the diff was duff, should it not be noisy on both sides and not just one? If you've got a wobble on one side then I'd look at dealing with that before going heavy duty on the gearbox.

My GP has had a weak front bearing that spun very smoothly by hand, but created a high-pitched whine like bad tyre noise. High temperatures like those at the mo seemed to aggravate it.

By the way, what's GP do you have?

It's not the drive shaft bearing is it? they have a drive shaft bearing carrier bolted to the engine, to make drive shafts equal length so no torque steer.

Hope it is just wheel bearing might try packing bearing with grease see if it quiets it down thanks for replys
