Hi,

Does my car include DPF?

Grande Punto 1.3 Multijet
Produktion: 2007.03
1248cc 90BHP Diesel

I want to change oil, is there an alternative oil instead of Selénia WR 5W-40?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say "no" straight away- I've serviced many GP's with DPF's.

endru- does the DPF lamp illuminate on the dash when first switching on the ignition? That's the easiest way to tell.

I thought they weren't required pre-2010 or somewhere around that time? So wouldn't it have been an additional extra on a 2007 model?

EDIT: Yes it was 2010 the EURO5 category was introduced.

IIRC it was an optional extra from when they first came out. No idea why, never come across one, surely whoever would pay extra to have a DPF really needs their head looking at

Thx for the advise! Tomorrow morning it will be my first thing to do.

True, they didn't need to be Euro 5 compliant before 2010, but Fiat were always keen to stay one step ahead in order to not be "caught out" by the approaching stricter regs. Most of their engines were Euro 6 ready before Euro 5 became law.

The Euro 5 engines (and therefore DPF's) were optional and spec'd at time of purchase from the beginning of the Grande's production. AFAIK, you didn't 'tick' a DPF box, it just depended on which engine/model spec you chose. Most people never knew until the first service.

No it was a cost option on the GP I believe, sold as meaning the car would be £30 RLF, but at a few hundred £ not many went for it.

Does that mean there are some £30 tax 6 speed 1.3s about? I did think about getting the later Eleganza to get 90hp and £30 tax, but with its 5 speed box I'm happier paying an extra £75 per year to have the 6th.

I haven't a clue, but you need to not get yourself hung up on the number of gears a car has got. More is not always better.

£££££ bill? Most systems are fine, if used correctly a £££££ bill is highly unlikly.

There are some oblivious people about though. Every 6 years or so I see my retired neighbour consign a brand new car to the scrap heap with barely 30k on the clock because it's been started half a dozen times a day, never done a trip of more than a mile, and seldom hit over 30. It's painful to watch.

Hi guys, if there is a dpf light where in the panel would be located?
Is it true that on the the dpf models would be written "DPF" on the ecu?
I have a 2007 1.3 90hp automatic GP and have no clue if it has dpf or not....

Thanks...

If you look under your car you should see an extra box coming from the exhaust. Has was 2007 may not have a dpf filter due to it could meet euro 4 standards

So there is no way to avoid going under the car to tell if has or not DPF?:p
You see, I'm not so fit lately...
Anyway, that would be on the front half or on the back?
