I was having a look under the bonnet and noticed that I can move this with ease from left to right and wobble it back and forth....surely this isn't normal aha so what is it supposed to be attached to? the bit with the hole in.

If youre talking about the metal bracket with the hole through the middle, then this is just an engine lifting bracket, used to install or remove the engine.
I assume that it's missing a bolt.
