I have a 56 reg go 1.9 sporting I'm looking for the best place to have it remapped in the south west but am willing to travel providing the rapping companies are really good and what as sort of cost can I expect looking for stage 1 map
Bit off topic but also has anyone with the 1.9 had the starting issue where it turns over longer then it should before it goes I have changed the following
Cambelt
Water pump
cold start sensor
Battery
Relay
2 sets of glow plugs
Fuel filter
Injector cleaner
Cleaned EGR

Please help

Can't comment on remap but most would say red dot , in regards to starting issue does it smoke n struggle to start ?
If you turn the ignition on and leave it for 5-7 seconds before turning it over fully it should help

You have changed quite a few things but have you checked for a air leak in the fuel system? Especially near to the injectors. If fuel pressure drops it takes an extra few seconds to build up the fuel pressure again.
As for re map there must be a decent place in the south west dont see the point in travelling to far a field unless you are intending to have more than just a simple re map..

I haven't just said red dot because they are the best or anything just relitetating what iv read , iv just said that's who most people have gone with from all the threads I seen on the forum previously hence saying I Can't really comment on remap as i havent had mine done

I'm also trying to figure out the best place nearby me (near Leeds).

Also, does anyone know if any uprated parts are needed prior to getting a remap; I've got the 1.9 130bhp model. The torque figures I was quoted seemed a pretty big improvement and I was wondering if the stock clutch, gearbox etc. could withstand the extra power.

Hey,

I'm kinda in the same boat, although when I picked up my GPS M-Jet the old guy bought himself a tuning box so he gave me that when I bought it!

There is a place in Banbury (not quite south west i know), Angel tuning who do remaps but I've not decided whether to keep the box or go for a remap, as to finding a south west tuner I've had no luck :(

Finally bit the bullet and it's book in at southwestincartech for Wednesday looking forward to the outcome of the remap

Let me know if you find anywhere, theres edl in leeds and fr&r in bradford, when you looking at having it done

I had a remap with a local guy in South Wales stage 2 map my figures are 170 bhp to 360 nm of torque on stock clutch etc all fine and I'm on 97000 miles all good pulls like a train same as my mates Clio sport 182 ;) diesel power

The problem is sorted now it turned out that the car did not like the ngk glow plugs after fitted Bosch ones it's like New ;-) and could do with mire power

I did not use them used southwest in car tech Bristol seems to be a good map lots more power 185bhp 281ft which is not bad and is a custom one

No they run a before and after dyno so with 2 runs to get the correct results but yeah true print out to prove
