Sisters 59 plate Grande punto has an intermittant Dualogic fault.

Not had the car long Car goes out of gear and will not drive at all. "check Transmission" comes up on the screen along with the Dualogic Transmission failure light coming on.

Its only happened twice but is a bit inconvenient when it does. both times has been during long journeys. first time was crawling through roadworks, and second time was moving slowly up a queue at traffic lights.

Could it be a coincidence that both times were when going very slowly?

In my mind i suspect she may be riding the clutch when she shouldnt be (i have never driven the car so dont know how it works) but i know our tractors with auto gearboxes etc dont like it when you use the clutch when you shouldnt.

The cure both times has been the aa man to disconnect the battery for ten minutes, but with my sister not being remotely mechanically minded shes a bit hopeless doing it herself.

Al help appreciated! :)

Check the transmission wiring loom where it runs into the car under the scuttle panel- I had a dualogic that had similar issues which was caused by the wiring harness running too close to the passenger side suspension top mount, chaffing through a couple of wires enough to temporarily short-out and confuse the ECU.

Ok, will have a look in there, cheers for the replys so far. :)

Just witgh tractor head back on, is there actually anything mechanical between the clutch pedal and the clutch itself? or is it switches? if it is could one or more of them be sticking? WD40 help maybe?

It's not like an automatic tractor where you can still have a clutch pedal. There is only 2 pedals in a dualogic like any other conventional automatic car.
