My little red GP 1.9 Elegenza goes tomorrow!

After owning it since 2007 and covering 62 000 miles in it, I will be sad to see it go. However I wont miss the fact I dont think their has never not been something wrong with it.

Aww real shame but i can sympathize, my GP always has some little thing wrong with it.

But i've never owned a car that has been perfect. With that said i'm no hurry to get rid of my GP.

What are you going for instead?

The car was brilliant for what I had it for and was comfortable on the motorway.

Need more space now and something newer. Collecting tomorrow a Focus 2.0 163 TDCI Titanium X Estate in white with rear privacy glass. Just over a year old with 9k on the clock.

Lol. I didnt really like the focus when it 1st came out and im not keen on the hatchback. I had one as a hire car when my gp was in for repair and really liked it.

For the price its a lot of car for the money, nice to drive and a good trade in for the GP.

I'm sure its great to drive but I just can't get past the naff styling, that front bumper is just about the worst I've ever seen. Oh, and don't get me started on the interior!

Ok it doesn't come as an estate, but otherwise its miraculous Ford sell a single car in that class when there is the pretty pretty Alfa.

You kinda get used to it when driving it. They are colour sensitive. Luckily I dont have to look at the bumper when driving it.

The interior looks awkward but everything's to hand.

The ford sync blue tooth system is made by microsoft...

Is that not reason to avoid? ;)

I think the new ST looks alright, but correct the interiors are just so drab. They seem to have this great reputation amongst the punters too (expensive and unreliable, don't know why?).

It does have a good ride though but very, very boring car. The ALFA on the other hand is gorgeous but has a terrible rep even now. Same with FIAT I suppose.

No I aint seen the DRL hack? Its got white LED's.

The turning circle cant be worse than the other halfs 147 or Mito is?

Granted it is a bit boring.. However it should be more reliable.. Im hoping the following dosnt fail like the GP which needed these replacing:

Rear brake caliper
Drop links x3
Turbo
Intercooler pipe leak
Steering rack
Rear wash pipe split twice
Electric window mechanism broke
Wires in the drivers door split
Alternator x2
Electric fault in rear light
Gearbox x2
Top mounts x2

Their is more but i cant think

You'll miss it for sure, I missed mine for ages. But the memories soon fade.

I cant find my old GPS on the .Gov site anymore, must have been written off...

Still got the I30??

Yours was provably purchased by a boy racer.

Yes still got the i30 Jimbbob, thinking of moving on again now though, trouble is, to what? I see Swift Sports on very recent plates with low miles are nice and cheap, must be a reason! Mrs Ffoxy has had a Fiesta 1.6 "Metal" company car and thats nice looking and TBH its a nice drive too, very well specc'd, but a bit pricey still at the mo. I looked at lingscars at cheap leasing deals but theres not much to save & you cant personalise them really.....

Ive heard the Swifts are unreliable. I did look at ceed's and i30 but to expensive!! Depends what size you want.

Has to be something, but the Car magazine reviews are always good, my daughter is on her 2nd one as she's had no problems in her 1.5 or the 1.3 she has now.

If you fancy an i30 look for a low miles FSH 2007 - 2010 FD model, mine is a 2008 1.6 and honestly its been amazing. Servicing it myself now as the warranty just expired.

My GP went on Wednesday. I miss it but only because I haven't got my next car yet.
(Being car-less is scary )

I sold it to a young lad, I think its his first car, I'm not 100% sure. I hope he doesn't ruin it. I'll certainly miss it in some ways, but I got bored of it being such a common sight, I see GP's everywhere I look, got bored of having the same car as a million other people.
