Hi all,

My names Dave and I have a 2008 Grande punto T-Jet roughly 54k on the clock

I have developed a problem not sure if anyone on here can help?

My car is making a weird grinding noise/rattling on aceleration/aceleration on the nearside front when turning. I have had two friends who are mechanics look at it and both have said either driveshaft or cv joints in their opinion.

I have recently had my car serviced and I pointed this out to the garage, that I think something is wrong with the driveshaft/cv joint on the nearside front and they said they would check this out

When I picked up the car they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car, now in my opinion they would surely want to make money by saying there is even if there isn't

The car is still making the noise so I have no idea what it is, any suggestions

thanks

Dave

I forgot to mentioned I have owned the car from new, thanks for your reply and that is what I was thinking as a final answer thanks

Anyone else have any suggestions as the only thing with taking it to another garage is the cost of them looking into it and if theres nothing there as previously stated by the other garage it would be a waste of money, time and taking the day off work etc

Thanks Dave

Thanks for this, hopefully its not the diff, looks like i'll have to book it into another garage then, the only way I'll find out. I just hope the next one can find the problem...

Urbex, be interesting to see what yours turns out to be as well, what age tjet do you have? Could it be a common problem with them when they get to a certain age?

Dave

yes its hard to describe, imagine cogs which together and they are slipping or metal and metal grinding together

Thanks Dave
