I thought it could be the under tray but I've had that off and it's still there! Mine seems to be worse when accelerating uphill whilst turning left?! Anyone else the same?

Mine will do it uphill worse as well under more load and turning right

I've got the Forge braces on already so it's not that. It doesn't sound metallic though. I'm thinking maybe one of the plastic panels that run down the sides of the car.

I did investigate the bar but I couldn't see any mark on the exhaust, did you bent it back straight? Because it does look a little bent upwards but I don't know if that's normal

That picture was an old one I had from before I had the knocking.

When I had the knocking, there was still a gap between the bar and the exhaust.

I bent it straight yeah, making it about 20mm away from the exhaust,...

I'd at least give it a try..., only takes 5 mins...

Mine was marked on the top side of the bar and not the exhaust.

Easiest way is to take it off, spent ages trying to bend it with it still on and it just wouldn't budge....

Yeah I tried bending it before and it wouldn't move so I thought it must be in the right place. Did the rattling sound seem like it was from the engine bay?

Yeah, I was convinced it was an engine mount I had gone.

It was only after I'd whacked the bar on a speed bump that it was pushed up further so it was in constant contact with the exhaust ... Sounded horrendous

It could very much so be this. I will hopefully try on the weekend to bend it back. Thanks for your help.

What can you do about the subframe brace, mines whacking off speedbumps at 10mph are the forge higher up, also i turned it upside down because it was hitting the exhaust pipe

The forge braces are a million times stronger than the stock one, ive scraped mine on loads of speed-bumps and it hasnt bent one bit. The standard brace its so weak, when i took mine off i could fold it in half as easily as folding a piece of paper.

Isn't the Forge kit a 'twin' pack also so it braces it in two places rather than the factory standard place?
