Hi,

I have done a bit of searching but I cannot find the answer.
Could someone please tell me which front speaker wire is the live (colour).
I am putting in 6.5" Vibes at the weekend with autoleads spacers.
All help much appreciated.

Cheers Richard.:)

Speaker wires dont carry an electrical current. You could bite them and it'd do nothing haha!
They do still have a pos and neg though so just test them both ways :) wont do no harm

My pos wire is yellow and white. May be different on yours though. Never know haha

I'll take your word for that, I can't afford to fry any more brain cells! LOL
Is there a best side to run speaker wires to the rear of the car for 6 x 9's, to avoid car power cables.

Cheers
Richard.

Pop the hu out there is a diagram on the back match the wires colour to the diagram.... From memory its black stripe which is live......

Personally id not bother with 6x9 the parcel shelf has a steel bar across its centre.. id rather fit decent rear speakers in the oem position then dynamat round and behind them.. If you are still planning on it the right hand side (driver side UK) has fewer cables running in it once you get clear of the dash.....

Hi Andy,
Cheers for the info.
I have already bought all the stuff, Vibe 6.5" with dynamat in the front, Infinty 6 x 9 in the rear parcel shelf, used my jig saw with a metal blade tonight, it wizzed straight through the metal support, it hasn't weakened the shelf either.

I will have to get some pics up soon, done quite a bit of work to my little 5 door!

Cheers Richard.

Fair enough knew the bar was steel my LED Amber light bar used to stick to it.. The Punto Evo doesn't have the bar....

Make sure your door speakers connections are bomb proof i used a length of the supplied wiring with a set of speakers on mine and the cable literally rotted off the crimped on connector :bang:
